Improvisation is at the heart of jazz, and Harbor Jazz Ensemble’s musicians have been showcasing theirs at private, public and business events for over 15 years with combos from casual HJE Trio to The Itty-Bitty Big Band, their new six-piece group of trumpet, sax, trombone and rhythm section that plays arrangements reminiscent of a Big Band.
HJE plays throughout the South Bay. Recent San Pedro venues include Feed & Be Fed Garden, the First Thursday Stage, and two sold-out concerts at Collage: A Place for Art and Culture. They play monthly at Creme de la Crepe in Rolling Hills, and are featured annually at Manhattan Beach's Holiday Luncheon.
