In August 2023, Live Music Society recognized Grand Vision Foundation with a “Toolbox Grant,” their inaugural program designed to provide music venues with public engagement resources. This grant allowed Grand Vision to elevate its premiere listening room, the Grand Annex Music Hall, in conjunction with the venue’s upcoming 15th Anniversary in 2024.
The Toolbox Grant set the groundwork for a new Grand Annex “look.” Graphic designer Heli Swenson, a longtime collaborator with Grand Vision, crafted an updated refreshing logo. The new look gives a sense of buoyancy to the venue and adds to the vibrant creative community in downtown San Pedro.
Simultaneously, local lighting designer David Zahacewski and the San Pedro Electric Sign Company brought the new Grand Annex logo to life in the form of a captivating neon sign for its stage. The high-tech sign is integrated into the new venue lighting system, changes colors dynamically, performs animations, and moves in sync with stage lighting during performances.

In just a few short months, the Live Music Society Toolbox Grant spurred Grand Vision to revitalize the Grand Annex’s public identity and elevate it to new heights. The new logo and stage sign stand as symbols of creative innovation.
The celebration of the Annex’s 15th anniversary will commence with an unveiling of this new look and new stage sign at a New Year’s Eve concert. The celebration will continue into 2024 with community events and a social media campaign to celebrate the 15-year history and new look of the Grand Annex Music Hall. We look forward to welcoming music enthusiasts and audiences alike, who make it a cultural hub for downtown San Pedro.
