The Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture (LACAC) has awarded Grand Vision Foundation an Organizational Program Grant for the next two years. This grant recognizes Grand Vision’s continuous service to LA County residents through its ongoing Meet the Music education program.

Grand Visionโ€™s Meet the Music (MTM) program provides California Arts Standards-based music education to over 3,000 elementary school students annually. This grant will help MTM to continue providing high-quality music education to all students, helping them build a strong musical foundation, gain self-confidence and develop cultural awareness.

Grand Vision has been sharing music with LA County students since MTM was founded in 2009. In 2015, MTM was approved as an LAUSD arts provider in order to reach students where they are: in school, in the classroom. The Organizational Program Grant has been awarded to Grand Vision since 2016, and this year, Grand Vision is pleased that LACAC is strengthening this partnership by increasing the award amount.

Thanks to LACACโ€™s support, MTM can continue positively impacting students’ lives. MTM students report that they are more excited to go to school, they learn they can do things they didn’t think they could do before, and they understand that someone who looks or sounds different than them may not be that different after all. MTM students commented, โ€œI learned that playing an instrument helps me believe in myself,โ€ and โ€œIt helped me understand culture and history with songs.โ€

With the support of the Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Cultureโ€™s Organizational Program Grant, Grand Vision will continue to provide valuable music education to students who need it the most, enriching school communities and contributing to students’ academic and social development. We are so grateful for LACACโ€™s continued partnership!
