About the Percussion Program A semester or year-long program explores percussion styles and creative expression. Students practice call-and-response songs and play polyrhythms while also making connections to STEAM, math, and history. An optional second semester introduces the study of pitched percussion, music notation, and melodies.
About Recorders in Schools This year-long program, designed for fifth graders, provides weekly musical skill-building. In partnership with classroom teachers, Grand Vision teaching artists lead students in 24 sequential weekly classes in recorder playing technique, reading music notation, and ensemble performance, culminating in a school recital for peers and parents. Included professional development empowers classroom teachers to connect the Meet the Music curriculum to history, culture, and mathematics.
