April’s First Thursday Open Mic Night Took Place on Zoom

Virtual Open Mic Every First Thursday A live streamed night of music and poetry, community and friends.

Thanks to Open Mic Night coordinators Gisselle Ruiz and Analiz Castillo for presenting a warm and engaging Open Mic Night that let us forget the pandemic for at least a few hours.
Over fifty people tuned in and twenty performers signed up for their 5 minutes “on stage.” Most performers sang and accompanied themselves on guitar. There were covers, originals and one poet chimed in. In keeping with the moment, the tunes were thoughtful, lovely, and some a little sad. We in the audience were impressed by the wide-ranging talent. Thanks to Jackson Greer, Liz Lopez, Chris Huff, Analiz Castillo, Keji Sojobi. Joselyn & Don, Lee De Young, Robert Brandin and many others for sharing your wonderful talents. And our host Gisselle was cool, calm and collected and a beautiful singer too.
The audience offered virtual claps and thumbs-up, and filled the chatbox with words of love and appreciation. Thank you to all who participated for helping to recreate the warm Annex vibe of music and community. More virtual events coming soon!
