CONCERT & EVENTS INTERN

This internship is specifically designed for a currently enrolled community college student.

DESCRIPTION

Grand Vision, an arts presenting organization located in San Pedro’s historic downtown Arts District, is looking for an Concerts & Events Intern. This is a 400 hour internship designed as a 15-20 hour a week position beginning in the summer of 2024 and continuing through February 2025 as hours permit. This internship is predominantly a physically active position and at least half the hours take place in the evening on weekends. The intern will assist with the physical setup and day-of-show coordination of concerts and special events at the Grand Annex, off-site community events and fundraisers. Secondary daytime responsibilities include ticket sales, inventory management and general office support. Community College students are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

This intern position is ideal for a student interested in music presentation and event production and in learning essential office skills. A positive attitude and a high level of oral communication skills are mandatory along with basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Google Drive. The best candidate must be able to ask questions, finish tasks, lift up to 20 lbs and be a resourceful thinker.

BACKGROUND

Grand Vision Foundation was formed to save the historic Warner Grand Theatre and create an arts hub in the LA Harbor Area. Today, our main projects are: continued preservation and promotional support for the Warner Grand; an annual live music and event series at the Grand Annex Music Hall, a 150-seat listening room theater in the heart of San Pedro’s Arts District and Meet the Music, an 18-month music curriculum for Harbor Area elementary school students.

PUBLICIST INTERN

This internship is specifically designed for a currently enrolled college student (four-year or community college).

DESCRIPTION

Grand Vision, an arts presenting organization located in San Pedro’s historic downtown Arts District, is looking for a Publicist Intern. This is a 400 hour internship. It is designed as a 30-hour a week position that begins in July 2024 and continues into December as hours permit. The intern will work closely with staff to develop, research and write creative blog articles to promote Grand Vision’s concerts and events in 2024-25. Secondary projects include event and office support.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have interests and/or experience in writing, public engagement and concert promotion. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive and a high level of oral and written communication skills are mandatory. Experience with graphic design programs such as Canva or Photoshop is preferred. The best candidate will be able to balance multiple projects and be a resourceful and innovative thinker.
