Arts Council for Long Beach logoThe Arts Council for Long Beach (Arts LB) has announced that Grand Vision Foundation is one of the 35 organizations selected to pair with 35 artists and participate in the California Creative Corps program.

Earlier this year,  Arts LB was selected by the California Arts Council as one of 15 organizations to administer the $60 Million Creative Corp program. Organizations and artists will each receive a grant with additional funds to support their project over the course of one year. Arts LB will also implement professional development mentorships to support the grantees.

The program funds aim to create works of art through Los Angeles and Orange County that reflect the heart of their diverse communities. This pilot program will serve as a media,  community outreach, and engagement campaign to increase public health awareness to stop the spread of COVID-19, water and energy conservation education, climate mitigation,  emergency preparedness, relief, and recovery, civic engagement, including voter education and outreach, and social justice.

“This is an exciting step in the overall mission of this statewide pilot program,” said Griselda  Suarez, Executive Director of the Arts Council for Long Beach. “The organizations and artists selected out of hundreds of applications represent new opportunities to bring the arts into  portions of Los Angeles and Orange Counties that represent the fabric of our communities and will benefit greatly from this year-long collaboration.”

Grand Vision is excited to serve as a host organization for an artist and support the development of a production over the next year. “The Grand Annex Music Hall was created to serve the community with high-quality arts experiences at the same time it is also a place for artists to develop their craft. Grand Vision is honored and excited to be in a position to provide creative and organizational support ” says Grand Vision Deputy & Artistic Director, Taran Schindler. This will be an exciting event to add to the upcoming 15th anniversary season at the Grand Annex Music Hall in 2024.
