Hosted by Americana-Country artist Manda Mosher, a five-time LA Music Awards winner. Mosher performs along with Dead Rock West, Silas Nello and Pi Jacobs.
Grand Vision and Blackbird Record Label collaborated to put this Spotlight Series line-up together through a generous grant from the Live Music Society.
LA-based Blackbird Record Label, founded by recording artist Manda Mosher and record label executive and music supervisor Eric Craig, represents a strong community of Americana and Alt-Country artists. Manda and Eric are also the founders and producers of the annual California Country Show at Americanafest in Nashville.

Manda Mosher has deep roots in California’s Alt-Americana and Alt-Country scenes. LA Music Critic, Bob Leggett says, “Mosher’s voice is so smoky and strong [and] her stage presence reminds us of a younger Emmylou Harris.” She has two solo albums and two more with CALICO the Band. Mosher is a four-time LA Critic Awards winner and five-time LA Music Awards winner, earning honors: Americana Album of the Year, Singer-Songwriter of the Year, and two-time National Touring Artist of the Year.

“X meets Wilco? A dream combination for fans of roots-inspired, punk-spirited rock. Dead Rock West is a Los Angeles-based duo blending Americana and country vibes with punk flair. Fronted by Cindy Wasserman and Frank Lee Drennen, they’ve toured with legends like Dave Alvin, John Doe and X.

Silas Nello, originally from Daingerfield, Texas and now based in LA, has a knack for blending blues, rock, and folk. With influences like Paul Cauthen and Leon Bridges, his introspective songwriting and dynamic performances have made him a staple of the indie-Americana scene for nearly a decade. Nello’s critically acclaimed albums, Out of the Light and Easy Listening For Uneasy People, showcase his genre-bending style and compelling storytelling. Always evolving, Nello continues to captivate audiences nationwide with his soulful music.

Pi Jacobs draws inspiration from her unconventional upbringing in Northern California. Blending roots-rock swagger and storytelling soul, her music has drawn comparisons to Tom Waits and Lucinda Williams. She has been highlighted in music magazines: Americana Highways and American Songwriter Magazine, heard on NPR and Austin Music TV and regularly featured on tastemakers KCSN, WFUV and stations across the nation.
