Swedish-based pop/folk singer-songwriter Sofia Talvik has toured the US, playing Lollapalooza to SXSW. Her lyrical imagery and rootsy sound have drawn comparisons to Joni Mitchell and her songs are topping the charts in the US and Europe.
Ever since Sofia Talvik entered the music industry in 2005 with her debut album Blue Moon, her brand of Americana has caught the ear of fans across Europe and the US. She is the first Swede to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago in 2008 and has continued to play across the country including at the Folk Alliance International Conference.
Her 2015 album Big Sky Country was named the 4th Best Americana Album by the UK newspaper The Telegraph. Her most recent album Paws of A Bear, was recognized by Americana Highways as “solid gold from start to finish,” and PopMatters praised its “beautiful soundscapes of subtle, rootsy timbres.”
