His experience as a captain filtered into his music. After learning traditional sea shanties while hoisting sails, he began incorporating them into his performances… and over time, he merged them with his love of Celtic musical textures and bluegrass.
“I’d like to think I’m reinventing the sea shanty,” Kraus boldly said.

For everyone’s safety and health, and in compliance with City of LA protocols, face masks are required for all unvaccinated attendees ages 2+ during all events. All attendees ages 2+ must show proof of full Covid-19 vaccination, a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours, or a negative antigen test taken within 24 hours. Attendees ages 18+ must show a valid ID along with proof of vaccination.
