RoMP students' year-end recital

RoMP students’ year-end recital

Grand Vision Foundation has been awarded an Arts Education Exposure grant from the California Arts Council. This grant supports our long-running Roots of Music Program (RoMP) at local elementary schools, part of our Meet the Music program’s mission to connect youth with the transformative power of music.

The Arts Education Exposure grant is part of the California Arts Council’s ongoing efforts to ensure that students across the state have access to arts education that fosters creativity, critical thinking and personal growth. This grant will allow Grand Vision Foundation to continue providing RoMP to schools that would otherwise not be able to afford it.

RoMP is designed to engage third and fourth-grade students in hands-on music education through immersive performances and in-class instruction. RoMP introduces young learners to the world of music while building skills that translate into other subjects like reading, math, science and social studies. Students explore a variety of musical traditions through in-school lessons with trained teaching artists and live concerts with professional artists. These experiences develop students’ foundational music skills and prepare them for culminating recitals, where they experience the joy of performing with their friends!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the California Arts Council for their support in strengthening RoMP and ensuring its success!
