Team Taiko is joining the San Pedro Holiday Parade. Learn how to taiko in a parade. We will practice how to wear the drum and march while playing.
Taiko is a Japanese drumming style that, over the last several decades, has become a global phenomenon. Since 2013, Grand Vision has partnered with leading taiko instructors to bring the art form to the South Bay.
Taiko Artist ManMan Mui guides participants toward a repertoire of drumming techniques and patterns. Sessions include developing rhythmic sensibility, body awareness, breath and strength training as students make music together as a team.
If you would like to drum in the parade, please be sure to select your shirt size when you register.
If you would just like to attend the class to learn these taiko techniques, please select the Class Only option.
Team Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities, from beginners to seasoned musicians. Classes are recommended for ages 12 and up, children must either participate with a guardian or have a participation waiver signed before class.
Classes are offered in person and streamed live via Zoom to allow for all to participate.
