In the mid 1990s, the lower lobby sustained extreme water damage due to flooding. The historic red and white checkered linoleum and wooden subfloor were destroyed. In 2007, the rest room dividers were cleaned up, rust removed and repainted, and floors were scrubbed clean. The cracked steps and splintering floor were given new carpeting.

In 2017, GVF restored much of the lower lobby with projects that included:

  • Paint Restoration – Walls
  • Replacement of Access Door
  • Alcove Mural Recreation
  • Decorative Elements including restroom signs and vintage light fixtures
