Charlie Saylan started out professionally as a bass player playing soul, funk and Motown, touring the Western U.S. with an R&B horn band. He played in a blues trio in the Los Angeles blues scene. He played bass and keyboards and sang background vocals in various rock & roll cover bands. He shifted to acoustic music playing mandolin which is now his primary instrument. These days he splits his time playing bluegrass and Americana in local jam sessions and gigs and electric bass in a. R&R original band. Charlie sings lead and background vocals and plays some rhythm guitar. He is available for band projects and collaborations.
