Ken Creighton will be your host, DJ and perform live music. Not only is Ken the honorary mayor of San Pedro, but he also hosts the monthly Grand Annex Open Mic Night!.
fINdings Art Center, in collaboration with Grand Vision, presents “Theater of the Sacred and the Absurd” by artists Nguyen Ly, Jillian Thompson, and Yvette Trujillo, curated by Henry Krusoe.
Nguyen Ly is a multimedia artist and art educator with expertise in numerous printmaking techniques (including monoprint and drypoint). His works have been exhibited throughout California and in locales as diverse as Springfield, Missouri, and Guadalajara, Mexico.
Jillian Thompson is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the contemporary Black women’s experience through a range of materials. Using metalwork, silkscreen, fibers, photo collage and found objects, she examines narratives of culture and self-expression through wearable pieces and imagery.
Yvette Trujillo is an LA-based Chicana artist and ceramicist whose work explores themes of labor, resilience and heritage. A graduate of CSU: Long Beach, Yvette draws inspiration from her family’s immigrant journey, particularly her parents, who worked tirelessly as artisans in construction and textiles.
Henry Krusoe is an Otis College graduate and has been an Angels Gate Cultural Center resident artist since 2019, creating multimedia artwork spanning analog and digital formats.
No-host bar open. Outside food is welcome.
