Little Italy of Los Angeles Association, with support from Councilmember Joe Buscaino CD 15, is proud to host the screening of Luciano Pavarotti’s 1970 performance of “Messa da Requiem” by Giuseppe Verdi
This free event is part of a multi-day celebration recognizing the late great tenor, as he posthumously receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The screening will also include an official proclamation from the City of Los Angeles to the family of Pavarotti and a new short film, “Luciano Pavarotti, The Star” by the Italian artist and director, Gianluigi Toccafondo.
The Pavarotti Family will be in attendance with James Conlon, Music Director of LA Opera, who will be introducing The Requiem to the public. The screening will also be attended by Representatives of Comune di Pesaro (Italian Capital of Culture in 2024), the Rossini Opera Festival and the Pesaro Capitale della Cultura Committee.
FREE and open to the public with registration and Covid vaccination or proof of negative test with 48 hours before show. This event will contribute to strengthen the relationship that the San Pedro community has with Italy.
