The Covid Hotel Welcomes You to the Future is a performance by Los Angeles Poverty Department, a theater group from Skid Row that has performed throughout LA and the world. It is inspired by interviews with healthcare workers who ran the LA County Health Department’s Quarantine & Isolation sites for unhoused COVID patients. The performance celebrates the unexpected innovations of these “Covid Hotels” and amplifies the programs that are building upon these innovations to provide low-barrier access to healthcare and housing. A panel discussion will follow the performance: Reimagining the Future of Healthcare for Our Homeless Community.
