Peter Asher will perform with Aubrey Richmond and Robert Berry. Chris Stills opens.
Hear stories and songs from the frontlines of the 1960s/’70s music scene with multi-Grammy winning producer and musician, Peter Asher. Asher first gained fame in the 1960s as half of the British duo, Peter & Gordon. Their first hit, “World Without Love,” penned by his friend, Paul McCartney topped seven international music charts. The duo’s success continued with 10 Top 40 hits, including “Lady Godiva” and “I Go To Pieces.”
Asher went on to secure his place in the music industry as the head of A&R for the Beatles’ Apple Records. He managed and produce legendary artists such as James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, and Joni Mitchell. His work earned him a spot on the cover of Rolling Stone and, in 2015, he was appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE). He continues his impactful career as a producer for top-tier artists and the host of SiriusXM’s Beatles Channel show “From Me To You.” Asher will be joined on stage by Robert Berry (piano, bass) and Aubrey Richmond (fiddle, mandolin, vocals).
Chris Stills opens the show. Stills is a versatile rocker like his father, Stephen. He’s released 6 records to critical acclaim and his music can be heard in film soundtracks films like I, Tonya (in which you can hear him sing an outstanding version of the BeeGees “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart”). He has toured and recorded with artists including Beck, Rufus Wainwright, Mandy Moore, Brandi Carlile and many more.
