Students practice call-and-response songs and play polyrhythms while also making connections to STEAM, math, and history. An optional second semester introduces the study of pitched percussion, music notation, and melodies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Recorders in Schools<\/strong> This year-long program, designed for fifth graders, provides weekly musical skill-building. In partnership with classroom teachers, Grand Vision teaching artists lead students in 24 sequential weekly classes in recorder playing technique, reading music notation, and ensemble performance, culminating in a school recital for peers and parents.
