The music filled cultural gaps left by his childhood in California\, providing a firm foundation upon which he built his musical career. The music he grew up listening to connecting Patrick with some of kī hōʻalu’s (slack key guitar’s) most legendary names: Cyril Pahinui\, Raymond Kāne\, George Kuo\, and Dennis Kamakahi. Under their tutelage\, Patrick’s style of music became firmly rooted in slack-key. Since 2013\, Grand Vision has partnered with leading taiko instructors to bring the art form to the South Bay. \nTaiko Artist Man Man Mui guides participants toward a repertoire of drumming techniques and patterns. Sessions include developing rhythmic sensibility\, body awareness\, breath and strength training as students make music together as a team. \nTeam Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities\, from beginners to seasoned musicians\, and fees are on a sliding scale.
