DESCRIPTION:Presented by Grand Vision & the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce. \nIncludes refreshments\, a chance to see the many improvements in the main lobby\, and more. \nThe Warner Grand Theatre is owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Grand Vision is the Friend’s Group to the Theatre. As the Friends\, we assist the theater with advocacy\, a corps of trained volunteers\, restoration projects and the marketing of its events. \nGrand Vision successfully advocated for the City of Los Angeles to commit to a major renovation of the Warner Grand Theatre so it can be enjoyed for generations to come! \nOn January 1st\, 2024\, the City temporarily closed the theatre for essential upgrades\, including ADA accessibility\, plumbing\, electrical\, and earthquake retrofitting – all the while keeping the beautiful historic elements of the theatre intact. \nThis event is pending the status of the Warner Grand Theatre’s renovation\, which is being carried out by the City of Los Angeles and its Department of Cultural Affairs. \nThis event description is accurate as of 8/31.

DESCRIPTION:Musicians & Poets!\n\nCome on down to the Grand Annex on the second Thursday of each month for Open Mic Night!\n\nHosted by: Ken Creighton\n\nTo perform:\n\nSign ups start at 6:30 PM.\nThe first 12 sign-ups are guaranteed to perform\, with additional artists as time allows.\nPlan to do 2 songs/poems (limit stage time to under 8 minutes).\nMicrophones\, D.I.\, music stand and a keyboard are available. If you will be performing with a backing track\, you can use the aux cord to connect your smartphone to the sound system. The Aux cord is compatible with Apple devices that use a lightning connector.\nThis is an all-ages show; all ages and genres are welcome to perform.\n\nTo keep the space welcoming for all ages\, please keep your act appropriate for all ages. Avoid rants\, blue comedy and punching down. Inappropriate acts will be removed from the stage and banned from future performances. \n\n\n\nSpecial Collaboration:\nSaigon Oi will be selling dinner during Open Mic Night. You can order their delicious food right from your table with no added delivery fees.
