Come play with us! \nTaiko is a Japanese traditional drumming practice that\, over the last several decades\, has become a global phenomenon. Since 2013\, Grand Vision has partnered with leading taiko instructors to bring the art form to the South Bay. \nTaiko Artist Man Man Mui guides participants toward a repertoire of drumming techniques and patterns. Sessions include developing rhythmic sensibility\, body awareness\, breath and strength training as students make music together as a team. \nTeam Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities\, from beginners to seasoned musicians. Classes are recommended for ages 12 and up\, children must either participate with a guardian or have a participation waiver signed before class. \nClasses are offered in person and streamed live via Zoom to allow for all to participate. \n  \nFall Session Mondays at 7 PM September – October\nTeam Taiko classes are broken into 7-week sessions\, with a different pattern taught during each session. Mustangs of the West first made waves at the famed Palomino club in the late 1980s\, when it was ground zero for the post-cowpunk California country scene. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n After a 20-year hiatus\, founding member and lead guitarist Sherry Rayn Barnett reunited the group with original members Suzanna Spring (lead vocalist/songwriter/acoustic guitarist) and Holly Montgomery (bassist/vocalist). The new lineup was finalized with Aubrey Richmond (fiddle/mandolin/vocals) and Suzanne Morissette Cruz (drums/percussion/vocals). \nWith their new Americana country sound\, their albums — the first of which was produced by the acclaimed Mark Howard (Bob Dylan\, Lucinda Williams\, Willie Nelson\, Emmylou Harris) — have received excellent reviews.
