SUMMARY:TEAM TAIKO Drum Classes Spring Session
DESCRIPTION:We believe in creating unique opportunities for people to meet their neighbors and engage in their community in a new way. Come play with us! \nTaiko is a Japanese traditional drumming practice that\, over the last several decades\, has become a global phenomenon. Since 2013\, Grand Vision has partnered with leading taiko instructors to bring the art form to the South Bay. \nTaiko Artist Man Man Mui guides participants toward a repertoire of drumming techniques and patterns. Sessions include developing rhythmic sensibility\, body awareness\, breath and strength training as students make music together as a team. \nTeam Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities\, from beginners to seasoned musicians. Classes are recommended for ages 12 and up\, children must either participate with a guardian or have a participation waiver signed before class. \nClasses are offered in person and streamed live via Zoom to allow for all to participate. \n  \nSpring Session Mondays at 7 PM March – May\nTeam Taiko classes are broken into 8-week sessions\, with a different pattern taught during each session. Team Taiko can be purchased by session or by class. \n\nMonday\, March 25 – 7 PM\nMonday\, April 1 – 7 PM\nMonday\, April 8 – 7 PM\nMonday\, April 15 – 7 PM\nMonday\, April 22 – 7 PM\nMonday\, April 29 – 7 PM\nMonday\, May 6 – 7 PM\nMonday\, May 13 – 7 PM\n\n  \nAbout Class Fees & Sliding Scale: \nTeam Taiko is designed to be $15 per person\, but we don’t want economic circumstances to be a barrier to attending so we offer tickets on a sliding scale. Pay the price that works for you. Your class experience will be the same regardless of which option you choose. \nTo Attend in Person: \n\nPlease bring water and wear comfortable clothes. Meet Me on Board Charcuterie Creations has created some lovely food pairings to go with the Spanish wines that will be served during the pre-concert wine tasting. Cups are $14 and boxes are $16 plus fees. Must purchase ahead of time by Tuesday\, April 16th. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Grammy-winning Spanish guitarist Diego Garcia returns to the Annex for a night of unbridled rhythm with members of his new collective: Adrian Buono & Jose Agote of the band Los Pinguos of Argentina and Jason Tamba & Mermans Mosengo of Afro Fiesta from the Democratic Republic of Congo. \nInspired by world travels and artistic encounters\, this one-of-a-kind show is a spectacular mix of South American cumbia\, Congolese Rumba\, Flamenco\, and Garcia’s own Latin Rockabilly twang. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				🍷Pre-Concert Wine Tastings: \nTaste fine wines. Wine Tastings are led by professional sommelier\, Jean-Philippe Molinari. \nFree to Grand Vision members at the Friend\, Champion\, VIP Circle\, Arts Advocate\, and Performing Arts Patron level – up to two per household\, $16 per person for all others. Concert tickets are required to participate. Members’ tasting tickets must be redeemed in advance. Tastings begin one hour before the show\, please arrive no later than 30 minutes into the tasting to participate.
