DESCRIPTION:Starting 10/10/24 we will no longer be able to offer a bar ticket with admission.\nThank you for your continued support of Open Mic!\n\nMusicians & Poets!\n\nCome on down to the Grand Annex on the second Thursday of each month for Open Mic Night!\n\nTo perform:\n\nSign up at 6:30 PM. The first 12 sign-ups are guaranteed to perform\, with additional artists as time allows.\nPlan to do 2 songs/poems (limit stage time to under 8 minutes).\nThis is an all ages show\, all ages and genres are welcome to perform.\nTo keep the space welcoming for all ages; please keep your act clean and appropriate for all ages. Avoid rants\, blue comedy and punching down. Inappropriate acts will be removed from the stage and banned from future performances.\nMicrophones\, D.I.\, music stand and keyboard available. You can use the aux cord to connect your smartphone if you will be performing with a backing track. DESCRIPTION:Los Angeles International Flamenco Festival Special Presentation: Flamenco Dancer Lakshmi “La Chimi” Basile \nWith: Juan Medina “El Bicho” (flamenco guitar)\, Pablo Heredia (flamenco guitar)\, Pepele Mendez (flamenco singer) \nA journey through the evolution of flamenco\, from traditional sounds to the modern era’s jazz and gitano swing influences. \n“La Chimi” was one of the first and only foreign artists in Spain to win a coveted national prize\, the Concurso de las Minas de La Unión. She was also awarded the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba where she surprised flamenco critics and received high praise from Alberto García Reyes\, ABC\, who described her performance as “un desgarrador homenaje a los románticos de lo jondo” (a heart-wrenching homage to the romantics of pure flamenco). \nThis event is presented by Kala Koa Entertainment and Los Angeles International Flamenco Festival. \nPlease contact the event producer for all questions related to this event.
