SUMMARY:Pennyroyal PlayersThe Suffragette Musical
DESCRIPTION:“THE SUFFRAGETTE MUSICAL: FROM BATTLES TO BALLOTS”\nA CENTURY OF STRUGGLE FOR THE RIGHT TO VOTE \nCo-produced by Grand Vision Foundation and the Pennyroyal Players. \nThe Pennyroyal Players pay musical tribute to the diverse “radical women” who dared to fight for their rights. The story begins in 1591 in England and ends in Tennessee in 1920 with the final ratification of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution\, which opened the doors for women to cast their vote in the United States. Presented with humor\, this fast-paced musical is an account of the struggles\, tragedies\, and victories these heroic women faced every step of the way. \nThis production was created by Anne Destabelle. The show is 1 hour with no intermission and is suitable for all ages. \nPennyroyal Players is a group of philanthropic professional and semi-professional musicians who have been performing together for over 17 years. They sing\, dance\, play guitar\, autoharp\, flute\, banjo\, mandolin\, banjolele\, harmonica\, and percussion. They have won awards and honors for their music and service work. They have toured Southern California\, presenting over 2\,000 performances – singing in libraries\, museums\, school auditoriums\, churches\, restaurants and even living rooms. \nA portion of the proceeds from this performance will be donated to charity. To date\, Pennyroyal players have raised and donated over $167\,000. Learn more at: pennyroyalplayers.org.

Lead guitarist and vocalist Paul Samarin emulates the sound and intensity of the original Pink Floyd vocals and captures the soaring beauty of David Gilmour’s legendary guitar solos. Guitarist Allen Moreno captures the hypnotic rhythm\, with Scott Richards (bass and vocals) and Marty Brumer (drums) completing the rock-steady rhythm section. DESCRIPTION:July 16\, 2022 8:30pm-10pm \nJoe Avati comes to San Pedro as part of his HAVE SOME RESPECT World Tour. \nHis 25 LIVE World Tour celebrates 25 years at the top of his game. His inimitable performance of over 90 minutes of Joe Avati’s best and newest stand up material will finally make his San Francisco Bay fans happy. \nThis show will highlight the routines that have made him a household name amongst the worlds large ethnic community. His comedy touches on universal themes such as generational differences\, being a modern day father and husband and of course the immigrant experience\, Joe’s comedy is able to reach across languages\, nationalities and ethnicities for a genuine laugh – and the fact that he avoids profanities and offensive gags makes it comedy that is truly suitable for the entire family. \nDon’t miss one of the world’s best stand-up comedians delivering his side splitting observations of what it’s like to grow up in a multicultural family whilst simultaneously tackling\, questioning and providing a hilarious monologue about the every day dilemmas of current affairs and generational differences. \nTo cater for his new fans Joe has ensured that the show is suitable for children 12 years and over. \nCovid-19 Safety at the Grand Annex \nAs of 3/25/22 Masks are strongly recommended for all\, we ask that those who have not been vaccinated wear masks. \nPlease contact the event organizers to verify the Covid safety measures before attending.
