Holst’s “The Planets” is now over 100 years old\, but the music remains timeless and relevant. It begins with the powerful and bombastic Mars\, progressing to the soulful Venus\, and on through Mercury\, Jupiter\, Saturn\, Uranus\, and Neptune. Alas\, poor Pluto wasn’t discovered until after The Planets were completed. And now it’s not even a planet.\n\n\nFor more than 50 years\, John Williams has been synonymous with the movies. We are excited to present two of his most enduring themes. From 1977 is the incredibly alien “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” And almost 40 years later\, the exciting closing moments from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” We also have the main theme from “First Contact” by Jerry Goldsmith\, in case you prefer Trek over Wars.
