SUMMARY:Saging the WorldFilm Premiere
DESCRIPTION:Join us this Earth Day for the world premiere of Saging the World. This film spotlights the ecological and cultural issues intertwined with white sage\, centering the voices of Native advocates who have long protected and cherished this plant. \n“Saging” has become common in movies\, TV shows\, social media\, and cleansing rituals –people burning sage bundles in the hope of purifying space and clearing bad energy. Instead of healing\, the appropriated use of saging in popular culture is having a harmful effect. Indigenous communities have tended a relationship with white sage for thousands of generations. White sage (Salvia apiana) only occurs in southern California and northern Baja California\, Mexico. Today\, poachers are stealing metric tons of this plant from the wild to supply international demand. \nThe screening will include a panel discussion with Native advocates from the film\, as well as a white sage plant giveaway.\nThe short documentary was produced by Rose Ramirez\, Deborah Small\, and the California Native Plant Society to foster awareness and inspire action for white sage. \nThis Earth Day\, go from smudging to seeding as we come together to see plants not just as “resources\,” but as “relationships.” For more information on the documentary and campaign\, visit cnps.org/sagingtheworld. \nThe event is sponsored by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy\, Theodore Payne Foundation\, California Botanic Garden and Tree of Life. \nCovid-19 Safety at the Warner Grand Theatre\nAttendees will be asked to wear masks at this event regardless of vaccination status.

SUMMARY:Which One's Pink?Pink Floyd Tribute Band
DESCRIPTION:Hello! Advance sales are closed. Tickets will be on sale at 6:00 pm in front of the Warner Grand Theatre. Credit/Debit card preferred. \nAt the Warner Grand Theatre as of August 11\, 2022:\n\nThose who are 12 years and older must present printed or digital proof of full vaccination\, OR printed or digital proof of a negative Covid-19 test result issued within the previous 72 hours.\nAll entrants 2 years and older must wear face masks while inside the theatre unless performing on stage or eating/drinking at their assigned seat.\n\nWhich One’s Pink? is a remarkably accurate and highly-charged live performance of some of the greatest music to come out of the classic rock era. As Alan Parsons – the recording engineer on Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon – says\, “Which One’s Pink? has all the parts down\, the sounds\, the solos . . . they pull it off\, they really do . . . they easily could be in the same room with Pink Floyd . . . if you close your eyes\, you’re hearing Pink Floyd\, live.” \nWhich One’s Pink? focuses exclusively on recreating the surrealistic sound and psychedelic atmosphere associated with Pink Floyd. Lead guitarist and vocalist Paul Samarin emulates the sound and intensity of the original Pink Floyd vocals and captures the soaring beauty of David Gilmour’s legendary guitar solos. Guitarist Allen Moreno captures the hypnotic rhythm\, with Scott Richards (bass and vocals) and Marty Brumer (drums) completing the rock-steady rhythm section. Larry Isenberg and Nick Feduska use multiple keyboards to create the distinctive ethereal sound of Pink Floyd. \nVIP Pre-Concert Reception: Reception is open to VIP & Premium ticket holders from 6-7:30pm with appetizers\, and access to private no-host bar before the concert. VIP ticket holders also receive one complementary drink. \nAt the Warner Grand Theatre as of August 11\, 2022:\n\nThose who are 12 years and older must present printed or digital proof of full vaccination\, OR printed or digital proof of a negative Covid-19 test result issued within the previous 72 hours.\nAll entrants 2 years and older must wear face masks while inside the theatre unless performing on stage or eating/drinking at their assigned seat.\n\n

SUMMARY:SPIFF presents It's A Wonderful Life (1946)
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the historic Warner Grand Theatre for this holiday classic and see Frank Capra’s little film that could. \nIt’s A Wonderful Life\nFrank Capra\n1946 Drama/Fantasy 2h 10m \nIt’s a Wonderful Life is a 1946 American Christmas family fantasy drama film produced and directed by Frank Capra\, based on the short story and booklet The Greatest Gift\, which Philip Van Doren Stern self-published in 1943 and is in turn loosely based on the 1843 Charles Dickens novella A Christmas Carol. The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey\, a man who has given up his personal dreams\, in order to help others in his community\, and whose suicide attempt on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel\, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George how he\, George\, has touched the lives of others and how different life would be for his wife Mary and his community of Bedford Falls if he had not been born. \nSanta will be there too at 6pm! \n  \nAt the Warner Grand Theatre as of December 16\, 2022: \nProof of full COVID-19 vaccination OR a negative test result within 72 hours of your show is required at the Warner Grand Theatre by the City of Los Angeles. Masks are suggested but are not required. \nThe Covid-19 rules are designated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and are in flux. Please contact the Warner Grand Theatre at 310-548-2493 or the organizer of the event to check the rules before attending. Thank you. \n
