SUMMARY:San Pedro Waterfront Arts presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL
DESCRIPTION:Hear Sir Patrick Stewart’s Adaptation of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol read by local luminaries such as Councilman Tim McOsker of the One Five\, former Councilman Joe Buscaino\, Harbor Commissioner\, Lee Williams and Amber Shiekh with actors from Little Fish/Shakespeare by the Sea\, Encore South Bay Theatre Group and House of Bards Theatre Company. Directed by Renee O’Connor-Sura\, (House of Bards Theatre Company) and Jacob Nye (Encore South Bay Theatre Group). \nThis idea was the brainchild of married social entrepreneurs\, Fred Allen and Linda Grimes\, who met in New York City when Fred was the Broadway Lighting Designer for this very successful one-man play. “We wanted to present this work\, as it has informed our relationship for the past 29 years and its messages are very relevant to today’s world situation”\, notes San Pedro Waterfront Arts District Executive Director\, Linda Grimes. The San Pedro Arts District believes by sharing culture\, we can reach common ground. \nThis performance is a part of the San Pedro Waterfront Arts District’s Culture Talks series. \nTwo Performances: \n\nEvening Friday\, December 13\, 7:30 PM\nMatinee Sunday\, December 15\, 2 PM\n\nBefore the performance\, Santa Claus is hosting a photo booth for holiday pictures. DESCRIPTION:Take a Look Inside The Warner Grand Theatre!\n\n\nJoin Councilmember Tim McOsker & the Department of Cultural Affairs\nWarner Grand Renovation Kick Off Celebration\nTuesday\, December 17\, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM\nThe public is invited to join City of Los Angeles officials\, including Councilmember Tim McOsker of the 1-5\, to celebrate the launch of the Warner Grand Theatre’s renovation. The Department of Cultural Affairs\, which operates the Theatre\, is overseeing the project\, with the City’s Bureau of Engineering managing construction. Over the past year\, the City prepared the building for renovation\, carefully selected a contractor and worked with SPF:architects to secure permits. After a thorough vetting process\, 2H Construction\, the lowest bidder\, was chosen and is ready to begin work. \nCome by and take a last look at the Theatre’s lobbies and enjoy coffee and refreshments sponsored by Grand Vision Foundation from 10-11 AM.
