SUMMARY:Makings of a LadySyndee Sings Lena Horne🍷
DESCRIPTION:In The Makings of a Lady\, Broadway’s Syndee Winters honors the legendary Lena Horne through high-spirited one-woman theatrical performance. Winters masterfully performs Horne’s classic Great American Songbook elegance with personal storytelling\, character work\, as well as hits from her own starring roles in The Lion King and Hamilton. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Inspired by the album Syndee Winters Sings Lena Horne\, the evening unfolds through a series of musical performances\, character portrayals\, and imaginative storytelling. Syndee Winters embodies a cast of special guests – all portrayed by herself – who gather to honor Lena Horne and reflect on the many facets of womanhood\, artistry\, and resilience that Horne represented. \nThe musical program features beloved selections from The Great American Songbook\, including signature songs associated with Lena Horne such as “Stormy Weather” and “The Lady Is a Tramp.” The evening also expands beyond the classics\, weaving in contemporary musical selections that highlight both Syndee’s career on Broadway and how Horne’s influence continues to echo through today. \nThe show moves seamlessly between jazz standards\, theatrical monologues\, and playful backstage moments. The result is a sparkling homage to an icon whose elegance\, courage\, and artistic excellence helped shape American entertainment. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 🍷 Pre-Concert Wine Tastings Led by JP Molinari: Free to Grand Vision members at the Friend\, Champion\, VIP Circle\, Arts Advocate\, and Performing Arts Patron level – up to two per household\, $16 per person for all others. Concert tickets are required to participate. Members’ tasting tickets must be redeemed in advance. SUMMARY:The Secret Agents
DESCRIPTION:LA’s Premier 1960’s Music Revue! The Secret Agents flawlessly capture the sound of 1960s Jazz\, Cinema\, Pop\, Rock and R&B: the music that makes whatever you’re doing simply cooler. \nSuddenly\, you’re flying First-Class on Pan-Am sipping dry martinis in a svelte three-button suit en route to Las Vegas where you’ll be dining with Steve McQueen at the Sands Hotel just before the Rat Pack show. That’s the level of cool we’re talking about here… \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Secret Agents were formed in 2018 with one mission: to bring the sounds of the ’60s back into the mainstream by celebrating the music of Bobby Darin\, Mel Tormé\, Henry Mancini\, Lalo Schifrin\, Johnny Rivers\, Chet Baker\, Matt Monro\, Horace Silver\, Georgie Fame & The Flames\, The Buckinghams\, Mickey & Sylvia\, Del Shannon\, The Association\, and so many more! \nSo put on that dinner jacket\, pour yourself a drink\, and let’s twist again like we did so very long ago.
