DESCRIPTION:LA-based blues legend and his special guests: Dave Melton\, Dena Michals and RJ Mischo and Shy but Flyy\, perform with an all-star backing band featuring Ray Bailey on guitar\, Elizabeth Hangan on bass\, Albert Trepagnier on drums\, and Mo Beeks on piano. \nPearl is a foundational figure in the SoCal blues scene\, launching his career during the Folk Music revival of the 1950s\, inspired by icons like Pete \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				 Seeger and Lead Belly. His deep connection to the blues was forged at his brother’s legendary LA music-coffee house\, The Ash Grove (opened in 1958)\, where he learned from and performed with masters like Lightnin’ Hopkins\, Fred McDowell\, Big Mama Thornton and Freddie King. In the late ’60s\, Pearl started and hosted the LA’s first all-blues radio show “Nothin’ but the Blues” and founded the Long Beach Blues Festival.
