DESCRIPTION:One of the Southland’s premiere Film acting and production talent development schools returns with the latest short films created by and starring their participants. \nThree short films will be showcased: \nMy Sisters Keeper\, After the sudden passing of his mother’s untimely death\, Jonathan (Matt Turner)\, an aspiring cartoonist\, now has the task of taking care of his two young sisters\, Zara (Zuri Ammarah) and Zoriah (Ziya Ammarah). He faces a series of obstacles and temptations that challenge him to make the right decisions for his family. \nMeet the Waltrainians\, On her 13th birthday\, India (Madisson Soto)\, discovers that she is not from this world and must navigate her newfound identity while trying to keep her secret from those around her. \nThree Card Monte\, Charles Davis (Marques Davis) is a busy family man who’s always on the go. He works long hours at his job and rarely has time for his wife and kids. He takes his family for granted\, assuming that they’ll always be there for him no matter what. \nWe will also be showing a few monologues from our Youth Commercial Class students. \nCome and enjoy a night out with the DBFAA family.

DESCRIPTION:We believe in creating unique opportunities for people to meet their neighbors and engage in their community in a new way. Come play with us! \nTaiko is a Japanese traditional drumming practice that\, over the last several decades\, has become a global phenomenon. Since 2013\, Grand Vision has partnered with leading taiko instructors to bring the art form to the South Bay. \nTaiko Artist Man Man Mui guides participants toward a repertoire of drumming techniques and patterns. Sessions include developing rhythmic sensibility\, body awareness\, breath and strength training as students make music together as a team. \nTeam Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities\, from beginners to seasoned musicians\, and fees are on a sliding scale. Recommended for ages 12 and up\, children must participate with a guardian or have a signed participation waiver. \nClasses are offered in person and streamed live via Zoom to allow for all to participate. \n  \nSpring/Summer Session Mondays at 7PM May-June\n\nMonday\, May 1 – 7PM\nMonday\, May 8 – 7PM\nMonday\, May 15 – 7PM\nMonday\, May 22 – 7PM\nMonday\, June 5 – 7PM\nMonday\, June 12 – 7PM\nMonday\, June 19 – 7PM\nMonday\, June 26 – 7PM
