DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Brenda Carsey who performs with Kid Lightning\, Joseph Eid and pop-folk artist Madison Malone – whose credits include lyrics for Celine Dion and soundtracks for General Hospital and ABC’s 20/20. \nGrand Vision and Wonder & Awe Productions collaborated to put this Spotlight Series line-up together through a generous grant from the Live Music Society. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Wonder & Awe Productions is a boutique event management and talent booking agency that creates inclusive\, community-driven experiences with a deep passion for music and multimedia art. They curate diverse events across the US\, from full band performances to intimate house concerts\, always with a focus on artistry and self-expression. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Brenda Carsey is a Los Angeles-based vocalist\, songwriter\, and producer known for her larger-than-life R&B/Soul and Progressive Pop. With poetic lyrics\, fluid melodies\, and a soulful voice\, she captivates audiences at venues like Moroccan Lounge and The Hotel Cafe. Featured by NPR and LA Weekly\, her music appears on Netflix’s Babysitter’s Club\, Better Call Saul\, and The Voice\, as well as projects by Whitney Tai\, Cesar Saez\, and more. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Joseph Eid is one of those writers who delivers a sense of renewal and a deeper perspective with his songs. His gift is his ability to thread a silver lining into the dark cloud of his subject\, making peace with life and being alive. As a first generation American who grew up in New York\, he expresses his unique point of view by combining folk sensibilities with a retro-pop flare. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Kid Lightning’s music is lyrically driven folk with a poetic focus\, or as BuzzBands LA put it: “Bob Dylan meets Woody Guthrie meets Yusuf.” Music for an empathetic future. KL is a SoCal native and loves to hit the trail or swim out past the buoy. When not outside\, KL is an avid reader and is happy to talk about books with anyone\, anytime! \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Madison Malone is a queer singer-songwriter and proud mama\, known for her poignant lyrics and blend of pop and folk. She co-wrote the song “The Chase” for Celine Dion and her music can be heard on soundtracks for General Hospital (also appearing on screen as Nurse Madison)\, 20/20 and PBS’s 30 Minute Music Hour among others and on documentaries including Gather produced by Jason Momoa.
