DESCRIPTION:Musicians & Poets!\n\nCome on down to the Grand Annex on the second Thursday of each month for Open Mic Night!\n\nHosted by: Ken Creighton\n\nTo perform:\n\nSign ups start at 6:30 PM.\nThe first 12 sign-ups are guaranteed to perform\, with additional artists as time allows.\nPlan to do 2 songs/poems (limit stage time to under 8 minutes).\nMicrophones\, D.I.\, music stand and a keyboard are available. If you will be performing with a backing track\, you can use the aux cord to connect your smartphone to the sound system. The Aux cord is compatible with Apple devices that use a lightning connector.\nThis is an all-ages show; all ages and genres are welcome to perform.\n\nTo keep the space welcoming for all ages\, please keep your act appropriate for all ages. Avoid rants\, blue comedy and punching down. Inappropriate acts will be removed from the stage and banned from future performances.

Hear “Pride and Joy\,” “Crossfire\,” “The House is Rockin’\,” “Texas Flood” and many more. \nWhen bandleader\, Roby Duron was just 12\, his dad\, a rock-n-roll pianist\, taught him a handful of chords and that was all it took to ignite a lifelong love of playing the blues. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Today\, he has mastered Vaughan’s style\, earning recognition as a 2005 National Finalist in Guitar Center’s “Guitarmageddon” competition and as the 2008 “Best Blues Guitar Player” from Rock City News-LA. And\, just to give the show another touch of authenticity\, the band’s keyboardist\, Noel Deis\, actually played with Vaughan himself!

Hear an upbeat Gipsy Kings-style mix of rock\, rumba\, flamenco and cumbia originals and covers. Hailing from Buenos Aires\, the band burst onto the LA scene in the early 2000s and have since built an enthusiastic and devoted fan base. In addition to their 12 albums\, they have appeared on three Putumayo World Music compilations and are a Playing for Change band. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Playing For Change is a global movement that unites musicians from diverse backgrounds. The project creates “Songs Around the World” videos by blending clips of musicians filmed in their home countries. The Playing for Change Foundation builds music and art schools for children in marginalized communities worldwide. \n🍷 Pre-Concert Wine Tastings Led by Jean Philippe Molinari: Free to Grand Vision members at the Friend\, Champion\, VIP Circle\, Arts Advocate\, and Performing Arts Patron level – up to two per household\, $16 per person for all others. Concert tickets are required to participate. Members’ tasting tickets must be redeemed in advance.
