Los Pinguos

Los Pinguos
with Pre-Concert Workshop☆

Doors 6:45 PM

Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Los Pinguos has been called the “Latin Beatles” by the Los Angeles Times. While they draw much inspiration from the traditional music of Argentina, they also blend reggae, cumbia and rumba flamenca to create dancible upbeat Latin rhythms. In the early 2000s, they participated and won on “The Next Big Star,” a television show that spotlighted rising entertainment acts.

More recently, they performed at the Sundance Film Festival with Suzanne Vega. They are also featured in Playing for Change’s award-winning documentary “A Cinematic Discovery of Street Music,” which showcased and brought together musicians from across the world. For half of Los Pinguos, this will be their second time at The Grand Annex — in April 2024, they performed here as part of Twanguero & Los Silverbacks’ sold out show! Los Pinguos’s skill, rhythm and energy combine for electric live performances, connecting with audiences regardless of language and sharing the vivacious sounds that embody the multicultural essence of Argentina.
